In business since 1975, we have built quite a foundation.

In 1975, Dean Bosler had $2,000. in cash, support of his family and a vision for his future. He began selling mattresses in a 2,000-square foot building in Henderson, Kentucky and Bosler’s Mattress Outlet was born. By 1976 he was able to take over the location next door which was a used furniture and antique store. Dean would sell furniture during the day while his brother Mark was at school then Mark would ride his bike from Evansville (across the Twin Bridges) and together they would deliver the days sales, often until late in the evening.

With Dean’s salesmanship and business sense, his growth was predictable. As the business grew Dean eventually phased out used and antique furniture to sell only new.

In the late 1970’s Dean allocated 900 square feet of his store for the display of waterbeds. His growth in this area was phenomenal. He soon realized that he was outgrowing the Henderson location and needed more space to display waterbeds. This led to a decision in 1982 to open Bosler’s Waterbeds on Covert Avenue in Evansville where he would have the space to sell matching bedroom pieces along with the waterbeds. Quickly, Bosler’s Waterbeds grew to be the largest waterbed showroom in the area.

By now, the Bosler name was synonymous with furniture. His businesses became so successful, and required so much of Dean’s focus and attention, that he made the decision to close the waterbed store in 1986 to focus on his ultimate dream. After three years of speculation, Dean purchased a lot on Morgan Avenue in Evansville and built a brand new 15,000 square foot showroom located on East Morgan Avenue. This beautiful showroom opened on October 12, 1985 and featured only the finest brands and quality in the home furniture industry. Mark stayed with the business until 1987 when he decided to move away and pursue other opportunities.

When the building next door to Dean Bosler’s Furniture became available for sale Dean took advantage once more of an opportunity to grow. In January of 1998 the building next door opened as an extension of Dean Bosler’s Furniture. Sitting side by side the buildings allowed the company to double the size of the showroom space and add more furniture lines.

In 2015, Dean wanted to pursue retirement and enjoy life without the day to day business responsibilities, but didn’t want to close the store and leave the committed employees with over 30+ years of loyalty without jobs. At this point, he and his brother Mark began having conversations about Mark coming back home to buy the business and continue the family tradition.

After 25 years with Sam’s Club, in September of 2015 Mark decided to retire from Sam’s and in November of 2015, Mark and his wife Michelle made the decision to sell their home in Florida and move back to Evansville to purchase the business and carry on the great tradition that is Dean Bosler’s Furniture.

Since 1975, Dean Bosler’s Furniture has become known for only the finest quality brands and the best after purchase service anywhere.
